BIOGRAPHY

A very highly qualified academic with extensive experiences in industry and internationally recognised researcher with extensive teaching experience at all levels of education. Conference and journal publication of 62 over 28 years, six books and numerous Keynote presentations around the world. Has supervised 68 students to their doctoral completion in USA, UK, Germany, Greece, Italy, Jordan, Singapore, Malaysia, UAE, Kenya and South Africa. Extensive consultancy experience internationally for multi-nations and organisations.

 

2018 – Present Dean of Doctoral Programs at Capitol Technology University. Responsible for various PhDs and ScD degrees in Data Science, Cyber Security, Technology, Manufacturing, Human Factors, Occupational Health & Safety, Product Management, Critical Infrastructure, Construction Science, Unmanned Systems and Aviation Artificial Intelligence, Emergency and Protective Services, Currently in excess of 200 students and 30 plus graduates per year since I started as Dean

 

2003 – 2018, Adjunct until 2009, Faculty and Department Chair of Graduate Studies, Associate Dean of Research,  College of Aeronautics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, with the responsibility for 20 faculty and 300+ adjunct faculty and seven Master’s degrees. Committee & Chair member of PhDs in Aviation, 2013-2017, Associate Dean of Research, started 2017. Tenured Faculty and Full Professor.

 

2008 – Present Teaching EASAs 147 part 66 courses and examinations for City of Bristol College at RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, Bristol College, Virgin Atlantic and Icelandair (Iceland), Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, Bell Helicopters, Shell Brunei and Sri Lanka Airlines. Cleared by EASA to teach all courses for A, B1 and B2 licence examinations.

 

2000 – Present Director of Earnley Concourse, Chichester. Responsible for the Health and Safety, Staff training and development. Supporting the CEO in the running and efficient use of the trust’s assets. Marketing and donations for the trusts. Director of Betts, Halycon & Providean Charities that support education for youngsters.

 

2008 – 2011 EU Consultant. Work with IDI (Ireland) on an EU funded project for working with Serbian companies to enhance their business plans, processes and procedures for their full membership into the EU. Working with 5 local Serbian companies. Working with 4 Serbian companies to develop their marketing plans and strategy. Supporting sales forecasting and attending Industry specific fairs.

 

1991 – 2009 Senior Lecturer, Admissions Tutor and External Consultant at University of Hertfordshire. Experience in teaching under- and post-graduates in a wide range of engineering subjects, specialising in quality and reliability, statistical process control, mathematics and manufacturing Aviation, aerodynamic, thermodynamic and human factors.  Extensive consultancy experience with over 50 companies specialising in the areas of Q.F.D., F.M.E.A., reliability, Ford G8D process and design of experiment (Taguchi) in both the U.K. and in Europe. Short courses in Aircraft Accident Investigation.

 

External Examiner (Ph.D) with Brunel, Buckinghamshire, Huddersfield, Bradford, Torino,  and Jordan Institute of Technology.

Income generated in last 5 years’ at University of Hertfordshire - £175,000. ($250,000)

Grant development for research grants in UK and Europe (120,000 GBP in 5 years).

 

1977 – 1991 Engine Process Engineer at Ford Motor Company (1986 to 1991). Responsible for the design and installation of multi-million-pound engine assembly equipment in European plants. Engine Designer for European engines (1984 to 1986), Car Body Designer (1982 to 1984), Toolmaker for press tools (1981 to 1982), Apprentice (1977 to 1981)

 

My experience is based on having been working in industry and academia or research that is mechanical, aeronautical and statistical in nature for over 28 years.  In that time, I have developed extensive problem solving skills and this coupled with my teaching experience enables me to deliver at a professional level of teaching.  An enthusiastic and a keen promoter of education, and have published  papers on Education at Embry-Riddle’s Education conference (2006, 2007 & 2014) and have developed online material for teaching at graduate level both with the University of Hertfordshire, University of Bedfordshire, Embry Riddle and Capitol Technology University and The Open University as well as Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

 

Currently writing two textbooks, one on statistics and the other on aircraft crash investigation, and working on aeronautical research myself and with other colleagues within Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and other Universities. Researching at Capitol Technology University and responsible for approximately 200 doctorate students. I have chaired/committee on 70 successful doctorate completions. Over 35 International conferenced chaired and delivered keynote talks,
